Heart of Stone {diy!}

A few months back, the lovely folks at DecoArt sent me a fabulous box of goodies (glitter paints, shimmer paints, stencils, chalkboard paint, decoupage and more!).  I am absolutely embarrassed that all of these wonderful things have just sat in my arts & crafts area for MONTHS just waiting patiently to be played with.  It wasn't for lack of inspiration but, rather, a lack of time (I have been so busy lately!).  But, all that is changing today, cause I have a fun little project to share with you and it involves glitter!  Hooray!

What you'll need:

* a smooth stone (top drilled so that you can hang it ... a great place to source these stones is Etsy)
* DecoArt Twinkles glitter paint
* ModPodge or some sort of sealant spray
* Heart stencil
* Paint brush
* Newspaper
* Scotch tape
* Chain

STEP 1:  Lay down your newspaper and the top-drilled stone.  Using LOTS of scotch tape, tightly tape the stencil to the newspaper leaving the to-be-stenciled area on the stone the only part of the stone that is revealed.

STEP 2:  Load up your brush with glitter paint and generously paint onto the stone using a "dabbing" motion.  Allow to dry.  Apply a second layer of glitter paint.  Continue until desired look is achieved.

STEP 3:   Carefully remove stencil and, while the paint is still a bit wet, use a q-tip to scrape off any rouge pieces of glitter.  Allow to dry overnight.

STEP 4:  Seal the glitter with a thin layer or ModPodge or a clear sealant spray.  String on a favorite chain and enjoy!

    I am OBSESSED with your sweet little bunny earrings! They seem to be sold out in the "groopdealz" special, but I think I'll be buying them from your Etsy shop. Bunnies are my favorite animal, and I just need to have these!
